Our Story
Rooted on Yampa Street, with the river flowing just behind us, our brick-and-mortar is a curated shop for both the wanderer and the dweller.
The Beck is a thoughtfully curated lifestyle boutique in the heart of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, serving both locals and visitors from around the world.
We believe the objects we live with—and the ones we travel with—should have meaning. Every collection in our shop is intentionally selected for its craftsmanship, story, and ability to become part of everyday life. Rather than following trends, we seek makers whose products are designed to be used, collected, and cherished.
Our philosophy centers around two kinds of customers:
The Wanderer — someone inspired by travel, discovery, and collecting meaningful pieces from places they’ve been.
The Dweller — someone who believes home should be layered, lived in, and filled with objects that tell a story.

Our shop is not about trends or mass production. It’s about considered living—supporting makers, honoring craft, and creating a place where visitors and locals alike can slow down, browse thoughtfully, and take a piece of that feeling home.

We intentionally seek partners who value thoughtful design, responsible production, and authentic storytelling. Many of the makers we carry are family-owned, women-owned, or independent businesses whose values align with our own.
Rather than offering endless choice, we carefully edit each collection so every piece has room to shine.
Our Team
Lindsay, married to Russell and mom to two boys, is a wanderer by nature. Whether traveling abroad, skiing through the backcountry, or discovering a small artisan workshop, she finds inspiration in places and people. Yet she is equally fulfilled around a family table, where thoughtful design and everyday rituals transform ordinary moments into lasting memories.
Whitney, married to Jeremiah and raising three children, brings an artist’s eye and a gift for seeing beauty in the everyday. Through photography, friendships, and a love of the outdoors, she reminds us that life’s most meaningful moments are often the simplest—the ones shared with the people we love.
Nan Nan, married to her best friend of more than fifty years, is the heart of the dweller. With an enduring appreciation for British design and timeless interiors, she believes every home should reflect the lives lived within it. Her spaces are collected rather than decorated—layered with history, warmth, and a sense of belonging.
Together, we celebrate thoughtful living, meaningful travel, and homes that tell the stories of the people who inhabit them. The Beck is an extension of our family and our shared belief that beautiful, well-crafted objects have the power to connect us—to places, to memories, and to one another.
